MEET Juanita

Advocate for Higher Learning for ALL People

Ms. Juanita Doplemore is currently a Compton Community College Board of Trustee representing Area 4. She was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles and upon high school graduation she pursued higher education at the University of Washington. Ms. Doplemore is also a military veteran having served overseas in Germany. Her dedication to her community, student advocacy and heart for service make her an incredible leader.

Ms. Doplemore is the founder and co-chair of the Collins Neighborhood Association which serves Long Beach residents in District 9 by providing food distribution events, vaccination pop-ups, and safe streets initiatives to name a few. She has worked tirelessly with Long Beach Vice Mayor Rex Richardson to ensure that the Collins Neighborhood residents do not experience gaps in need.

Ms. Doplemore was appointed to the Board of the California Student Aid Commission by California Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon. Her role on the Commission is to advocate for students going to college. She is a fierce advocate for students accessing national, state and local financial aid and does not believe that a lack of funds should stop a student from attending higher education and creating opportunities to change their lives.
